Booton House, a three-storey detached residence in Norfolk, approximately 13 miles from Norwich city centre, has been listed for £1.3 million.

The property boasts a distinguished heritage - it served as the childhood residence of Sir Stephen Fry, the celebrated actor, comedian, and writer, who fondly recounted his memories of it in his 1997 memoir Moab is my Washpot. The Blackadder star was eight when his family relocated to the property in 1965. Sir Stephen revealed his deep affection for his former home, admitting he had carried a "tattered and torn" photograph of the house in his wallet.

Images of the property, listed by estate agents Jackson-Stops on Rightmove, showcase its picturesque rural setting. The residence boasts a gated entrance leading to an expansive private courtyard, set within generously proportioned landscaped grounds adorned with mature trees and shrubbery.

Interior photographs reveal elegant oversized wooden doors and window frames, while numerous ground floor rooms feature period fireplaces. The accommodation is notably spacious throughout, with the substantial kitchen showcasing a large central island complete with its own sink, complemented by exposed wooden ceiling beams.

The bedrooms are equally impressive in scale, with one - likely designed for a young child - adorned with a charming Beatrix Potter-inspired wall mural, reports the Mirror.
