Udupi: Ahead of the Paryaya Mahotsava at Sri Krishna Math in Udupi, district deputy commissioner Swaroopa T K has issued a notification announcing important changes in vehicle movement to ensure smooth travel for devotees. Revised routes have been fixed especially for vehicles coming from Karkala and Manipal sides.
The major changes are as follows:
Vehicles coming from Karkala and Manipal towards Udupi city:
Until 7 pm on January 17: Vehicles from Karkala and Manipal can directly enter Udupi city and the service bus stand via the Kalsanka route.
From 7 pm on January 17 to 7 am on January 18: Entry of all types of vehicles into Udupi city will be completely prohibited during this period.
Night-time alternate route (from 7 pm to 7 am):
Vehicles coming from Manipal Syndicate Circle must proceed via Lakshmindra Nagar, Sagri Nolle Road, pass in front of the Perampalli FCI (Food Corporation of India), reach Ambagilu Junction, and then join National Highway 66. From there, vehicles should travel via Nittur to reach Karoora Junction, which will be the final parking point.
Vehicles returning must follow the same route in reverse: Karoora Junction – Nittur – Ambagilu – Perampalli – Sagri Nolle – Lakshmindra Nagar – Manipal.
The deputy commissioner’s office has clarified that there will be no changes to other traffic diversions and parking restrictions already announced earlier.
