The Foreign Ministry said on Friday that we are keeping a close watch on the Iran issue. Foreign Minister Jaishankar spoke to the Iranian Foreign Minister. When External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal was asked about the film ‘Battle of Galwan’, he said, ‘We have come to know that a plan is being made to make such a film. Matters to film making in India are handled by the concerned authorities. As far as we are concerned, the Ministry of External Affairs has no role in this or any such work.
On the Iran issue, the Foreign Ministry said, ‘We have a long-standing partnership with Iran. We are closely monitoring the developments taking place. We are watching the changing situation and will take our partnership forward accordingly. Recently America has announced to impose 25 percent additional tariff on Iran’s trading partners.
On this issue, Randhir Jaiswal said, ‘We are closely monitoring all these developments. As far as bilateral trade with Iran is concerned, our total bilateral trade in the last financial year was $1.6 billion. In this, our exports to Iran were about 1.2 billion dollars and our imports from Iran were about 0.4 billion dollars. If you look at its total size in global trade, Iran’s share in India’s total trade is about 0.15%. At the same time, India is talking to America on the Chabahar port issue, so that the exemption from sanctions continues.

On Myanmar elections, the Ministry of External Affairs said that India supports an inclusive and fair electoral process in Myanmar with the participation of all stakeholders. Randhir Jaiswal said, ‘We have seen reports that two rounds of elections have been held. Further rounds will take place later.
