U19 World Cup 2026: Vaibhav Suryavanshi, known as the ‘Wonder Boy’ of Indian cricket, is currently with Team India in the U19 World Cup 2026 being played in South Africa. Former coach of Team India, WV Raman has given a big statement regarding his selection, which has attracted the attention of the cricket world.
While sharing his opinion on social media platform X, WV Raman has expressed concern over the development of Vaibhav. His argument is that sending a player who has already played high level cricket back to the junior level can be detrimental to his career.
“Look towards the big goal, don’t look back”
Raman believes that when a player has proved his ability in a high-profile league like IPL and at a level like India-A, then sending him back to U19 can slow down his progress.
Raman wrote, “Some people may not like this opinion. Suryavanshi has performed brilliantly for the India-A team and in the IPL. Putting him back at the U19 level could be detrimental to his development. He can win matches, no doubt about that, but one should always look at the bigger goal.”
