Lucknow, Read: Ainam (26), the pregnant daughter of fire department sub-inspector Sher Ali Khan, committed suicide on December 17 after being fed up of torture and beatings in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Ainam was married to Rae Bareli engineer Aamir Khan and at that time she was five months pregnant. After the father got information, the body was brought to Lucknow. A complaint was filed against Ainam’s husband and in-laws at Chinhat police station.
The post mortem report found five serious injury marks on Ainam’s body. There were several injuries on the back and front of the head and face. This indicates that he endured continuous torture and beatings before his suicide. According to father Sher Ali, Ainam had called her home and told that husband Aamir is completely different in reality and beats her on small things. When Ainam did not receive the call the next day, relative Faisal was sent. Faisal went home and confirmed Ainam’s death.
Initially the father and family suspected murder, so post-mortem of the body was conducted. The police found that the cause of death was hanging, but before that Ainam had been badly beaten. The post-mortem revealed five deep injuries on the body and serious injuries on the head and face.
Inspector Chinhat Dinesh Chandra Mishra said that based on the post-mortem report, a full investigation into Ainam’s death has been started. Police are examining all evidence and call records to identify the circumstances behind the incident and any possible perpetrators of torture.
