How To Avoid Online Fraud: Today our entire life has started revolving around the internet and smartphones. From banking to education, shopping to government work, everything has become online. In such Cyber Security It is no longer an option but a necessity. Even though smartphones and internet provide us convenience, cyber thugs are using this technology to make innocent people their victims. Incidents like fraud, scam and digital arrest are coming to light every day, which are a matter of concern. The government is continuously running campaigns to make people aware, but despite this, scammers are deceiving people in new ways and emptying their accounts.
Cybersecurity Awareness Workshop organized in Goa
In view of this threat, recently Cogniflux company successfully organized the fourth edition of Cybersecurity Awareness Workshop in Goa. This program ran from 7 to 10 January 2026, which was led by India’s renowned cyber security expert Dr. Rakshit Tandon.
About 8000 students, parents, professionals and government employees participated in this workshop. Dr. Rakshit Tandon told everyone easy ways to avoid digital threats and identify cyber fraud. In a post shared on LinkedIn, he wrote, “The support of sponsors, partners and well-wishers was invaluable in organizing this event on a large scale, without whom this initiative for a secure digital future would not have been possible.”
Students got special guidance
According to the Facebook post of Dr. Rakshit Tandon, about 2000 students of school and nursing college were made aware about cyber security at Ravindra Bhawan located in Sakhali (Sankelim), Goa. This impressive initiative was organized by Cogniflux, with the strong support of Vigil Aunty and HDFC Bank. This session was made even more special by the presence of Honorable Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant. He explained the important things about digital discipline and cyber security to the students.

Golden rules to avoid cyber fraud
- Always use 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) and strong passwords
- Do not click on lottery and free gift links received on WhatsApp or email.
- The bank never asks for OTP, PIN or password over the phone.
- “Digital Arrest” Like nothing happens, it’s a complete fraud
- Avoid public Wi-Fi and keep your phone’s software updated
- Do not download APK from unknown sites
