Actors Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush are back in the spotlight, after rumours about a Valentine’s Day wedding gripped the internet, despite repeated attempts by both stars to keep their private lives away from public view.
Unconfirmed reports circulating in film industry circles suggest the two may be planning to marry on 14 February, in what is being described as a small and private ceremony with close family and friends.
Neither actor nor their teams have responded.
The speculation comes months after similar talk about a possible relationship between the two refused to die down.
In August 2025, the 33-year-old actress addressed the chatter directly, saying Dhanush is “just a good friend”.
Speaking to Only Kollywood at the time, she repeated the line, saying, “Dhanush is just a good friend to me,” and added that she initially found the rumours “funny”.
She also dismissed claims that the 44-year-old actor travelled from Chennai to Mumbai specifically for her.
“Dhanush attended the Son of Sardaar 2 event. No one should misunderstand that. It was Ajay Devgn who invited him,” she said.
A report in News18 had stated that both stars were indeed dating and that their relationship is fairly new, due to which they have no intention to go public with it anytime soon.
Much of the talk began after a video from the screening of Son Of Sardaar 2 went viral, showing the two holding hands and whispering.
Fans later noted the Sita Rama actor’s presence at the wrap-up party of Dhanush’s film I love you so muchdespite her not being part of the project.
Online attention grew further after the Love Sonia actress followed the Vaathi lead’s sisters on Instagram, with the family following her back.
However, Dhanush has not responded with either confirmation or denial over the chatter about his personal life.
