New Delhi: Punjabi singer B Praak faces a chilling death threat from the dreaded Lawrence Bishnoi gang, demanding a whopping Rs 10 crore. An extortion call and scary voice message targeted his close associate Dilnoor, warning of deadly attacks if demands aren’t met within a week.
“We will reduce him to dust,” the caller vowed. As police launch a probe, fans are shocked amid rising gang violence in Delhi. Is B Praak’s hit music career now under fire?
Terrifying threat details
Mohali police revealed that Punjabi singer B Praak received a death threat and extortion demand of Rs 10 crore from a caller claiming to be Arju Bishnoi of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The threat came via calls and a voice message to Dilnoor, a singer linked to B Praak, on January 5 and 6. Dilnoor got two missed calls on January 5, then a suspicious call from a foreign number on January 6, which he disconnected.
Caller’s menacing words
In the audio message, the caller demanded action fast. “Pass this message to B Praak that we want 10 crore. You have one week. Go to any country you want, but if anyone associated with him is found nearby, we will cause damage,” the caller said, as per the complaint. He warned further: “If the demand was not met, they would ‘reduce him to dust’. Dilnoor filed a written complaint with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Mohali, on January 6.
Police probe underway
Police have started an investigation to trace the call’s origin and check the caller’s identity. Officials confirmed the probe focuses on the foreign number and gang links. This incident has alarmed the music industry, given B Praak’s popularity.
B Praak’s rise to fame
B Praak remains a big name in Indian music, with many Bollywood hits to his credit. His songs have topped charts and won fans across India. The threat hits hard as he builds on his success in Punjabi and Hindi tracks.
Wave of gang violence
The case joins recent attacks linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Early this year, 25 rounds were fired outside a businessman’s home in Rohini around 6 pm. Similar firing hit a gym in Paschim Vihar and a site in East Delhi after phone threats. Delhi Police arrested criminals in two cases after encounters.
This pattern of threats followed by attacks raises security fears for celebrities and businessmen. Mohali police urge quick action to stop the gang’s spread. Fans pray for B Praak’s safety as the probe continues.
