The former captain of Bangladesh, Tamim Iqbal, is now embroiled in a dispute over the cricket relations that should be governed by goodwill between Bangladesh and India.
Between Mustafizur Rahman's release from the Kolkata Knight Riders' squad and the beginning of the IPL, he became a great talking point among the Bangladeshis.
Tamim Iqbal asserted that everybody should maintain calmness and talk rationally; however, his statement has not sat well with many in Bangladeshi cricket and political circles.
What worsened the matter was when ex-Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Director M. Najmul Islam labeled Tamim an "Indian agent".
This further seemed to agitate a great share of Bangladeshi cricketers. Protests led by active player Mohammed Mithun, president of the Cricketers' Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB), were held.
Mohammad Mithun later told Cricbuzz that life threats to him had arisen from this issue.

'Never Had An Experience Like This': Mithun On Life Threats
Mohammad Mithun confirmed that reports about life threats were true. He said:
"It's true and I've never had an experience like this. It's the first time in my life. I don't remember ever being involved in controversial talk. It's going over my head - when have I ever spoken against the country?"
He added:
"I don't even know how to take this or describe it, it happens with me for the first time. I have never used any word that goes out against the country; I only spoke for the interest of cricket and the players. There is no personal issue, here. If I do not talk about players' rights, as the president of an organization, what is the point of me being in this position? No one is above the country."
BCB Responds To Life Threat Claims
The BCB stated it would launch an investigation into the matter and check the claims of the protesting cricketers.
The board also stated that it would look into Mohammad Mithun's statement regarding receiving threats on the phone concerning the matter.
