There is tremendous enthusiasm among the audience about the film Ramayana, which is going to be released in the year 2026. This grand film being made under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari is being counted among the most ambitious projects of Indian cinema. While its star cast and budget are already in the headlines, people are also very interested in its music. The biggest reason for this is that two veteran composers for the film, Hollywood’s famous composer Hans Zimmer and India’s Oscar winner A.R. Rahman, are working together for the first time.
When the news came out that A.R. When Rahman was composing music for Ramayana, some people started raising questions about his religion. He was asked whether his religious identity ever became a hindrance while working on a Hindu epic like Ramayana. Rahman’s answer to this question was very concise and thought-provoking.
Study in Brahmin school and introduction to Ramayana
A.R. Rehman said in clear words that he has studied in a Brahmin school and has been associated with Ramayana and Mahabharata since childhood. He told that these epics were staged every year in his school, hence he knows the story of Ramayana very well. According to Rahman, Ramayana is not just a religious text, but a story of ideals, values and qualities of a great human being. He said that if there are things worth learning in any story, then they should be adopted, no matter what religion or culture it is to.
Rahman’s thinking about knowledge
Giving the example of his religion, Rahman said that in Islam also it is taught that knowledge, wherever it is obtained, is priceless. Quoting Prophet Mohammad, he said that whether knowledge comes from a king or a beggar, from good experience or from difficult circumstances, it cannot be ignored. According to him, a person should rise above narrow mindedness and adopt good things.
example of unity in diversity
A.R. Rahman described this project as a special gift given by India to the world. He said with pride that people from different cultures and religions are working together in this film. While Hans Zimmer is Jewish, he himself is Muslim and the Ramayana is a Hindu epic. According to him, this is the real strength of India.
Starcast, Budget and Release Date
The star cast of the film Ramayana is also very strong. It includes big names like Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Kajal Aggarwal, Arun Govil, Ravi Dubey and Lara Dutta. According to reports, the budget of the film is said to be around Rs 4000 crore, which makes it one of the most expensive films of Indian cinema. This film will be released in theaters on Diwali of 2026.
