Meg Lanning continued her fabulous form in the Women's Premier League (WPL) as she scored her 11th half-century, the most by any player in the short-lived history of the league. This was during the match involving UP Warriorz Women and Mumbai Indians Women in Match 10 of WPL 2026 at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai.
The milestone moment came in the 10th over when Amelia Kerr tossed it up outside off and Lanning launched it straight over long-off for six. The shot also helped her reach her fifty as the crowd cheered loudly. Lanning now sits at the top for most WPL fifties.

UP Warriorz Off to a Rapid Start
The match entered an interesting phase after UP Warriorz made a powerful start with the bat. Mumbai Indians Women won the toss and chose to bowl first in the early swing to limit the scoreboard.
UP Warriorz started well but lost an early wicket, Kiran Navgire got bowled by Nicola Carey without scoring. Meg Lanning and Phoebe Litchfield took command of the innings with smart strokeplay. Lanning used the gaps well and punished loose balls, while Litchfield supported her with quick singles and some boundaries.
At the halfway point of the innings, UP Warriorz were 94 for 1 in 10.4 overs.
The partnership pushed MI Women on the back foot as they struggled to break through. Even bounce was visible on the surface, making stroke play easy once set. Mumbai Indians Women used rotations between spin and pace, but Lanning's control made it tough for them to slow the run flow.
With a bit of luck, UP Warriorz would continue to increase their score significantly as this partnership flourished. Mumbai Indians Women expected to take few wickets quickly to avoid chasing a huge total under lights.
