Kate Garraway was concerned about her children following false rumours that she had a new boyfriend. The 58-year-old television host isn't prepared to start dating again after the loss of her husband, Derek Draper, in January 2024. However, Kate was alarmed when AI-generated images surfaced online showing her with a supposed new partner, prompting her to worry about her children's reaction, Darcey, 19, and William, 16.

In an article for The Sun, she expressed: "As I read on, something stopped me cold. A detail in the article claimed my son was not happy and was insisting the relationship end." The piece suggested that 'The relationship looks set to flounder because Kate's son isn't happy and is insisting she ends it'.

She continued: "As if Bill [William] hasn't already had enough to cope with - navigating teenage life, exam pressure and the loss of his dad - he was suddenly being portrayed in a way that made him seem obstructive to his mum's happiness, and selfish.

"You can't help worrying. What if his mates see it? Their parents? His teachers?" She worried.

She added: "It's the classic mum instinct: I can take any nonsense thrown at me, but leave my children alone."

Meanwhile, Kate has stated that she hasn't ruled out finding love again, but she isn't ready to move on just yet.

During her appearance on the Great Company podcast, Kate revealed: "I wouldn't like to think that I'd never had romantic love in my life again.

"I think that would be rather a sad way to go through life, wouldn't it? But, no, I'm not there yet. I don't know if anybody would want me."

The TV presenter also disclosed that she has no plans to use a dating app.

When questioned about whether she's ever tried using a dating app, Kate responded: "No, course not. I don't think I've ever really dated because everyone keeps asking me about dating and I don't think I've ever dated in that way that you guys do.

"I think it's an uncomfortable thing to do to go and meet someone you've never met. I just end up interviewing them and struggling to get a word in edgeways.

"I'm of the old school where you lived life, did things you loved and then met people along the way. But maybe that doesn't happen anymore."
