Lyricist Javed Akhtar explains how Gungunalo works and why it is special. Unlike other apps that use pre-existing songs, he said. This platform belongs to its creators themselves. Other apps use pre-made songs. But this app belongs to the creators. Music director, lyricist and singer are its owners. Each of us will put out at least four new songs every year. Singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan described this day as an important day for music and creativity. Today is a very special day for the world of music, poetry and creativity. This is a unique platform of its kind where the artist gets complete creative freedom. Singer Shaan also said that such an artist-owned company had never been formed before. There is no such music company built by such artists as musicians, composers, lyricists and singers anywhere in the world. In Gungunalo we can finally sing those ghazals, thoughts and songs which were in our hearts for many years, but we were not sure whether they would be accepted commercially or not. Lyricist Prasoon Joshi told how he decided to join this platform. When Shankar and the team called me initially, I felt that this was a very good group of people. I wanted to get involved and be a part of it. Bhajan singer Anup Jalota invited young musicians to join this platform.
