Block more than 1000 harmful links

Chandigarh, 17 January 2026: Haryana Police has turned a red eye against the increasing illegal activities and provocative posts on social media. Under a special digital campaign launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, so far 1,018 harmful links and profiles have been identified and action has been taken. Out of which 583 links have been permanently removed from the social media platform.

Cyber ​​Haryana team has been continuously monitoring social media platforms for the last one month. In particular, immediate action is being taken by issuing notices under the IT Act against anti-national, anti-religious and content that violates public peace. The remaining 435 profiles are currently under review and will be blocked soon.

  • 28 apps floating under the radar in the name of investment

Haryana DGP Ajay Singhal said that a well-organized campaign has been started from January 12 to stop digital stalking. Under this, suspicious trading and investment software and apps are being investigated. So far, 28 such fake apps and channels have been identified, out of which 14 have been successfully removed from the digital platform.

DGP Singhale further said that cyber criminals usurp people’s hard-earned money by luring them with higher compensation in less time. He has requested the citizens not to click on any unknown or suspicious link. Before investing, check the credibility of the app platform. If anyone becomes a victim of fraud, then immediately call the cyber helpline number 1930 or lodge a complaint on the official website.

ADGP Cyber ​​Shibash Kabiraj said that the main objective of this campaign is to create a secure and trustworthy digital environment. With the cooperation of the public, the hatred spreading on social media and online fraud will be eliminated.
