Instagram’s new AI voice translate feature

Instagram has announced the addition of a new AI voice translate feature to its services, which will now be available in five new languages of India. Earlier this feature was available only for English, Hindi, Spanish and Portuguese languages. Now, plans are being made to bring it in Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Marathi languages. According to the company, this feature will be activated for users in the coming months.

How will the Translate Reels feature work on Instagram?

When users upload Reels, they will see a new option called ‘Translate your voice with Meta AI’. This feature will provide the facility to translate the languages already available, and the new update will include the inclusion of Indian languages. Through this, users will be able to translate the voice as per their choice.

Inclusion of new Indian fonts in Edits app

Instagram has added new Indian fonts to its Edits app. Creators can now use fonts from Devanagari and Bengali-Assamese scripts. With these fonts, users will be able to style their text and captions more creatively. This update will be available for Android users soon.

How to use the new Indian fonts in the Edits app?

  • After updating, open the Edits app in your Android phone.
  • Upload the video you want to edit and go to the editing timeline.
  • Tap Text from the tools below.
  • Click on the ‘Aa’ icon, where you will see all the fonts available.

If your phone already has Devanagari or Bengali-Assamese language set, the new fonts will automatically appear in the font list. Other users will have to scroll down a bit in the ‘All fonts’ section and select the Indian fonts of their choice.
