Chairman Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission, Mr. Jasvir Singh Garhi, today highlighted the significant contribution of women to the economic and social progress of the state and the country, stating that no country, state or society can progress unless women are given equal status.
Participating as the chief guest in the event ‘Lohri Dhiyan Di’, organized by Sarv Sukh Sewa Mission in collaboration with DAV College in the college campus, Mr. Garhi said that the rights of daughters must be advocated from every platform for the development of the state and the country, so that they can be further empowered.
On this occasion, ChairmanPunjab State Safai Karamchari Commission Chandan Grewal, Chairman Punjab Agri Export Corporation Limited Mangal Singh Bassi, Director Rajinder Singh Rehal, and President Shri Devi Talab Mandir Management Committee Sheetal Vij were also present.
Chairman Mr. Garhi said that the Indian Constitution has granted girls equal rights to boys, due to which girls today are not behind men in any field. Rather, they are scaling new heights of success in every sector and making a priceless contribution to the economic and social progress of the state and the country.
He said that due to the serious efforts being made by the state government led by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to empower girls in every aspect, girls today are performing excellently in various fields and bringing laurels to the state.
He appealed to parents to give daughters equal opportunities, education and the freedom to take their own decisions, so that they can achieve new heights in life.
On this occasion, successful women from various fields were honoured. The Chairman also urged the girl students to take inspiration from these successful women to achieve great success in the future.
The Chairman appreciated the selfless services being rendered by Sarv Sukh Sewa Mission and also lauded the valuable contribution of DAV educational institutions in the field of education.
On this occasion, Sarv Sukh Sewa Mission Chairman Arvind Sharma and College Principal Anup Kumar welcomed the dignitaries.
During the event, girl students of the college presented a cultural programme. Gurlaal Saila, Sukhjit Singh, along with a large number of students and other dignitaries, were also present on the occasion.
