Controversy to Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s film
Raanjhanaa, Mumbai: Famous Bollywood director Aanand L Rai had produced a film titled ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ with Dhanush and Kriti Sanon last year. This film was linked to 2013’s ‘Raanjhanaa’, and now a controversy has arisen in this regard. Raanjhanaa’s production company Eros International Media has filed a lawsuit in the Bombay High Court against Aanand L Rai and his company Color Yellow Production.
Eros International alleges that ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ was deliberately presented as a spiritual sequel to ‘Raanjhanaa’. It is alleged that Aanand L Rai has used the reputation of ‘Raanjhanaa’ in his film, and that too without permission. Along with this, allegations of violating trademark and copyright have also been made.
Demand for compensation of Rs 84 crore
Eros says that ‘Raanjhanaa’ is his important asset. Its name has been used in the promo, trailer and publicity of ‘Tere Ishq Mein’, and permission was not taken. Eros has demanded compensation of Rs 84 crore from Aanand L Rai and his company for the use of the name ‘Raanjhanaa’.
Aanand L Rai, director of both films
Now it will be interesting to see what happens next in this matter. For information, let us tell you that Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor were in the lead roles in ‘Raanjhanaa’, and it was directed by Aanand L Rai. Eros International was the production company of this film. When Aanand L Rai made ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ in 2025, Eros was not associated with it, leading to Eros being upset that Aanand L Rai used the name ‘Raanjhanaa’ without permission.
