On the question of composing songs of Ramayana, AR Rahman said – One should rise above small thinking, his religion also teaches the same, appreciate every good thing.

This is the first time that Zimmer and Rehman are working together. AR Rahman is a Muslim when he was asked whether his religion came in the way while working for Ramayana? On this he gave a very good answer and said that in his religion also it is taught that knowledge obtained from anywhere is priceless.

Rehman studied in Brahmin school

AR Rahman was asked on BBC Asian YouTube channel whether his religious beliefs came in the way when he was making the Ramayana album? To this he replied that I studied in a Brahmin school. Every year we had Ramayana and Mahabharata, so I know the story. The story is about a person, how virtuous he is, has high ideals etc. People may debate this but I value all these good things. Anything good that you can learn from. Prophet Mohammed also said that knowledge is priceless, it does not matter from where you get it – whether it is a king, a beggar, a good deed or a bad one. You can’t hide from these things.
