Navi Mumbai: In the ninth match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2026), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) once again performed brilliantly and defeated Gujarat Giants by 32 runs. The RCB team led by captain Smriti Mandhana registered its third consecutive win in the tournament and continues to top the points table.

Gujarat’s chase collapses: Shreyanka Patil creates a storm

Gujarat Giants, which came out to chase the target of 183 runs, did not have a good start. Sophie Devine (8) was caught by Arundhati Reddy on the first wicket and sent to the pavilion. In the very next over, Beth Mooney (27) was also out on the ball of Shreyanka Patil. Captain Ash Gardner returned to the pavilion after scoring just 3 runs.

Shreyanka Patil became the real hero of the match. He bowled brilliantly and took 5 wickets for 23 runs in 3.5 overs. Became their victims:
– Kanika Ahuja (LBW)
– Georgia Wareham (13)
– Kashvi Gautam (18)
– Tanuja Kanwar (21)
– Renuka Singh (2)

Lauren Bell also did wonders and took 3 wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs. For Gujarat, Bharti Phulmali scored the maximum 39 runs (20 balls, 3 sixes, 3 fours), but the team was bundled out for 150 runs.

Radha Yadav’s explosive half-century

RCB’s top order flopped against Gujarat, which won the toss and chose to bowl first. Grace Harris (17), Smriti Mandhana (5), Dayalan Hemlata (4) and Gautam Naik (9) were out cheaply. Radha Yadav and Richa Ghosh took over the innings after 4 wickets fell for 43 runs. Radha Yadav completed a brilliant half-century with 66 runs (6 fours, 3 sixes) in 47 balls. Whereas Richa Ghosh showed her strong performance with 44 runs (2 fours, 2 sixes) in 28 balls. RCB scored 182 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.

RCB’s third consecutive win

RCB has won all three matches so far this season. Defeated Mumbai Indians by 3 wickets in the first match. In the second, defeated UP Warriors by 9 wickets and yesterday defeated Gujarat Giants by 32 runs.

Shreyanka Patil’s lethal spin and Radha Yadav’s aggressive batting have made RCB the strongest contender in WPL 2026.
