A father and avid walker has discovered an ideal Lake District trek offering spectacular panoramic views with little exertion. Situated in Cumbria, the Lake District stands as England's largest National Park, renowned for its charming hamlets, dramatic terrain and natural splendour.

Its peaceful character and stunning scenery have established it as one of Britain's most sought-after holiday destinations. Josh, who shares content on TikTok as Joshaky, ventured to an area just above Howtown on Ullswater's shores, uncovering a family-friendly route that accommodates walkers of all ages.

Hallin Fell presents a brief circular route with a rapid ascent culminating in a peak boasting extraordinary views across the valleys and dales. Spanning 1.2 miles, the trail carries an "easy" classification.

Whilst certain steep grassy inclines may prove slippery in places, the walk remains accessible to walkers of varying capabilities, with both canine companions and youngsters welcome.

Joshaky explained: "Do you want a family-friendly hike in the Lake District with panoramic views and a summit that takes less than one kilometre to reach? Well today we completed Hallin Fell and you need to save this one for later.

"We parked at St. Peter's Church where there's plenty of spaces when we arrived. Straight from the car park the path is right there and leads you straight uphill.

"It's short, but you gain height quickly and the path was so easy to follow. There's a massive stone cairn that marks the summit and the views over Ullswater are unreal.

"You can see for miles across the lake and into the valleys beyond, which all of the kids absolutely loved. It took us just under 30 minutes to get to the top.

"So if you want a walk that delivers big views for small effort, Hallin Fell near Ullswater is the one."

Joshaky isn't alone in his praise for the trek - the location boasts an impressive 4.8-star rating on TripAdvisor.

A visitor from Sydney, Australia commented: "After touring Martindale we walked to the top of Hallin Fell which took around 30 minutes. The views from the top were great and there is an old stone cairn there. Well worth the walk if you are in this area."

Another hiker remarked: "A fab climb up with the dog. The view is amazing. Take water and a backpack to make life easier. Stunning place to overlook Ullswater."

A third added: "Steep but short climb that is totally worth it, as the views from the top are just stunning. You can leave your car in a small car park opposite the Church. You'll meet many sheep on the way up.

"One of our favourite short hikes in the Lakes. A must-visit if you are in Pooley Bridge or around Ullswater. Takes a max of 1 hour to go up and back."
