If you're looking for a film you won't be able to forget after watching, this 2023 hit is it. Starring Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott, the film is one that has left viewers feeling thoughtful and heartbroken.

All of us Strangers follows the story of a screenwriter drawn back to his childhood home who enters into a fledgling relationship with his downstairs neighbour while discovering a mysterious new way to heal from losing his parents 30 years ago.

One person on IMDB said: "A near perfect film on so many fronts. In a movie awards season that has had more misses than hits, it's gratifying to see one that not only lives up to, but exceeds, its potential.

"Such is the case with writer-director Andrew Haigh's latest offering, a heartwarming and heartbreaking story of love, reflection and healing all rolled into one."

The movie was based on the 1987 novel Strangers by Taichi Yamada. It is the second feature adaptation of the novel, after the Japanese film The Discarnates (1988).

The film received huge amounts of critical acclaim and it was named one of the top ten independent films of 2023 by the National Board of Review.

Another person who watched the film on IMDB said: "A story of love, loneliness, and grief. Had the privilege of catching this film early as it screened at the London Film Festival. I had high hopes after seeing the critics reviews and it did not disappoint."

In a review by NME, it says the film is one of the best British indie scripts, with Paul Mescal's performance being one of his "finest roles to date."

The film is also called "brutal" but it leaves viewers with "something profound."

If you're looking to watch this sad but moving film, it's available on Amazon Prime.
