‘ Saturday Night Live ’ has returned for 2026, with Finn Wolfhard a.k.a. Mike Wheeler from ‘ Stranger Things ’ making his hosting debut. Wolfhard was joined by his former co-stars Caleb Mclaughlin and Gaten Matarazzo . The show resumed after the winter break with musical guest A$AP Rocky.

Finn Wolfhard’s hosting debut Wolfhard, fresh from the final season of 'Stranger Things', kicked off his monologue as host addressing the end of the beloved sci-fi show, noting that he was a mere 12-years-old when he began on the series and said that it was “so amazing that 400 million people got to watch me go through puberty.”

Finn Wolfhard’s satire on his puberty Wolfhard joked about his minimal facial hair and said, “I know a lot of people still see me as the kid from 'Stranger Things,' right? But I’m 23 now, and I’m proud to officially announce that I am a man."

“Oh yeah, that’s right. Things are different now. Like, for example, I have facial hair. Can we zoom in on it? It might only be one hair, but the party starts when the first guest arrives,” he added.

Joined in by co-stars The monologue became a reunion when Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin joined him to toast their transition from child actors to adult roles, marking a warm moment that resonated with the studio audience. The audience erupted in applause, when the three continued, “We’re former child stars, and any time you read ‘Former child star’ in a headline, it can only mean good things.”

A$AP Rocky as musical guest Rapper A$AP Rocky also debuted on Saturday Night Live with three songs from his new album, ‘Don’t Be Dumb’, which dropped Friday.

Finn Wolfhard recently wrapped the final season of 'Stranger Things,' which he’s starred in since season one debuted in 2016.
