Premium Indian Single Malt Whiskey

Indri Whiskey has been launched by Piccadilly Group associated with Manu Sharma's family. Premium Indian single malt brand Indri has gained international recognition. There has been a debate on social media regarding the red dot in the brand's logo. Some people say that this bindi appears to be similar to the bindi seen in the famous picture of Jessica Lal.

However, it is important to clarify that no concrete evidence has emerged to intentionally link this design to any incident. Experts believe that such symbols can also be common design elements in branding.

Who was Jessica Lal?

The Jessica Lal murder case is one of those cases in India which raised serious questions. In 1999, Jessica Lal, who was working in a pub in Delhi, was shot dead. It was alleged that the son of an influential family opened fire in public after refusing to give liquor. Many people were present at the time of the incident, the accused was also identified, but due to power, money and pressure, the witnesses turned hostile and the evidence became weak. The accused was acquitted by the court in 2006. This decision created outrage across the country. After pressure from media and public, the case was reopened and ultimately Manu Sharma was convicted. However, her release after serving her sentence once again sparked debate whether the victim got complete justice.
