The Indian automobile market is gearing up for an action-packed fortnight. Over the next 14 days, five new SUVs from major global brands are set to be launched or unveiled, promising fresh designs, new features, and strong competition across segments. From petrol-powered SUVs to an all-electric offering, here’s a look at the upcoming vehicles that are expected to create a buzz.

Renault Duster 2026

The much-anticipated Renault Duster is scheduled to launch on January 26. The 2026 version will receive noticeable design updates, including new LED DRLs, repositioned front fog lamps, and a horizontal light strip on the tailgate.
Under the hood, it is expected to offer two turbo-petrol engine options: a 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit and a more powerful 1.3-litre four-cylinder engine. The new Duster aims to strengthen Renault’s presence in the mid-size SUV segment.

2026 Skoda Kushaq

The updated Skoda Kushaq is expected to be unveiled around January 19 or 20. While the engine options are likely to remain unchanged, the SUV is set to receive significant upgrades in terms of features.
Expected highlights include a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera system, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Design updates are also expected to give the SUV a fresher and more premium look.

Nissan Gravitas

The Nissan Gravitas is slated for unveiling on January 21. Built on the CMF-A+ platform, this sub-4 metre SUV will feature a distinct design with a unique grille, redesigned bumpers, new alloy wheels, and updated headlamps and tail-lamps.
It is expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, targeting buyers looking for a compact and affordable SUV.

Toyota Urban Cruiser EV

The all-electric Toyota Urban Cruiser EV is set to launch in India on January 19. The SUV stands out with its sharp, hammerhead-inspired front design.
It will be available in two front-wheel-drive variants and is claimed to deliver a driving range of up to 543 kilometres on a single charge, making it a strong contender in the growing electric SUV segment.

Volkswagen Tayron

The Volkswagen Tayron is expected to launch on January 28. This model will replace the Tiguan Allspace in the brand’s lineup.
Key features are likely to include 19-inch alloy wheels, massaging front seats, a large 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a customizable 30-colour ambient lighting setup, positioning it as a premium SUV offering.
