The Mumbai Cricket Association has confirmed the 16-member squad that will take the field during Mumbai's upcoming Round 6 match of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 against Hyderabad. The four-day fixture will commence on January 22 and will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, Hyderabad have also named their squad and will be led by India pacer Mohammed Siraj.
In the absence of international stars like Shardul Thakur, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shivam Dube, the Mumbai squad will be led by senior batter Siddhesh Lad. The Mumbai veteran had also led the side during the last few games of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Siraj, on the other hand, is leading the hosts in the absence of the injured Tilak Varma, who is recuperating after dealing with a testicular torsion.
Both the teams are part of the Elite Group D for the ongoing season of India's elite domestic red-ball competition. After three wins in five matches, Mumbai are topping the group with 24 points, whereas Hyderabad have one win, one loss and three drawn games, which has kept them at the fourth spot after five rounds. Under a new captain, Siraj, Hyderabad will want to gain a crucial win in the upcoming match.
