NEET UG 2026 is a crucial examination for students preparing for a career in the medical field. This exam provides admission to various medical courses, including MBBS, BDS, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, and Nursing. The NEET exam is conducted annually by the National Testing Agency (NTA), and millions of students from across the country participate in it.
When will the exam be held?
The NEET UG 2026 exam is likely to be held on the first Sunday of May 2026. However, the official date will be announced later by the NTA. The exam will be conducted in offline mode, i.e., in a pen-and-paper format, and the exam time will be from 2 PM to 5 PM.
Exam Pattern
The NEET UG 2026 exam will consist of a total of 180 questions. There will be 45 questions each from Physics and Chemistry, and 90 questions from Biology. The exam will be for a total of 720 marks. 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer, and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
Eligibility for NEET UG 2026
To be eligible for NEET UG 2026, candidates must have passed their 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects. A minimum of 50 percent marks is mandatory for general category students, while SC, ST, and OBC candidates need to secure at least 40 percent marks. Additionally, the minimum age for appearing in the exam is 17 years, while there is no upper age limit.
Application Fee
After filling out the application form, candidates will have to pay the fee online. The application fee is Rs. 1700 for the general category, Rs. 1600 for OBC and EWS categories, and Rs. 1000 for SC and ST categories. Keep these points in mind before submitting the form

- First, go to the official NEET website neet.nta.nic.in.

- Fill in the required information, such as name, mobile number, email ID, and create a password.
- Complete the registration by entering the OTP received on your mobile and email.
- Now log in with your Application Number and password.
- Fill in your personal details, educational information, exam language, and exam city.
- Upload the required documents.
- Pay the application fee online.
- Double-check all the information before submitting the form.
- Download and save the confirmation page for future reference.
