According to reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board has announced major structural reforms in the Pakistan Super League. The player auction system will be implemented in this, which will replace the draft system that has been in place since the start of the event in 2016. The franchise’s total budget for the players auction has also been increased from USD 1.3 million to USD 1.6 million. PSL CEO Salman Naseer said that these reforms made ahead of the 11th edition of the league will further strengthen its commitment towards growth, competition and innovation.

Under the new structure of the PSL from its 11th season, franchises will be allowed to retain a maximum of four players, with only one player from each category. The provisions of mentors, brand ambassadors and right to match option from previous seasons have been removed. Newly joined teams will be allowed to select and retain four players from the available pool before the auction.

Each franchise will also be allowed to directly sign one foreign player who did not play in the previous season. PSL 11th season will start on 26 March 2026. Faisalabad has been added as an additional venue for the upcoming season, expanding the list of host cities.
