Technology and innovation cooperation between Madhya Pradesh and Israel Innovation Authority was discussed during WEF 2026 in Davos. Pilot projects and investment partnerships in areas such as quantum, edtech, defense and water solutions were agreed upon.
During the World Economic Forum-2026, an important discussion regarding technology and innovation cooperation took place between the Madhya Pradesh Government and Israel Innovation Authority (IIA) at the Madhya Pradesh State Lounge in Davos. IIA Chairman Dr. Alan Stoppel and Principal Secretary of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Department Shri Raghavendra Singh were present in the meeting.
Dialogue focused on technology-based economic development
The main objective of this meeting was to accelerate technology-based economic development and explore possibilities of bilateral cooperation in the field of innovation. Both sides discussed in detail how to enhance cooperation in areas of common interest.
Presentation of Israel's innovation model
Dr. Alan Stoppel shared insight into Israel's innovation-based development model. He pointed out that Israel has developed remarkable capabilities in areas such as quantum technology, edtech, defense technology and water management solutions. He also noted that Israel's strong R&D ecosystem is based on active private sector participation and a co-investment model that links government support to business success.
Madhya Pradesh's innovation and G2G cooperation strategy
Principal Secretary Shri Raghavendra Singh informed about the intention of the state government to promote civil technology, government-to-government (G2G) cooperation, pilot projects and startup based innovation in Madhya Pradesh. They discussed possibilities of enhancing investment and industrial partnership through joint pilot projects, technology demonstration and co-investment mechanisms under the India-Israel cooperation framework.
Consensus on formal cooperation framework
It was agreed in the meeting that work would be done to develop a formal cooperation framework between Madhya Pradesh and Israel to strengthen technology pilot projects, innovation partnerships and institutional linkages.
Agree on further action plan
Both sides agreed to continue dialogue to identify priority areas, opportunities for pilot projects and develop appropriate institutional mechanisms. Its objective is to give a new direction to India-Israel innovation cooperation and to establish Madhya Pradesh as a key partner in this partnership.
This dialogue reflects Madhya Pradesh's commitment towards industrial development, investment promotion and technology-based sustainable progress through global innovation partnerships.
