Day two of the Australian Open is upon us, with Novak Djokovic headlining the evening session in Melbourne. Three Brits made it through to the second round yesterday, including Emma Raducanu, who overcame a scare, but her close friend Fran Jones was not among them, retiring in tears during her match against Linda Klimovicova.
Djokovic opens his account on Rod Laver Arena against Spain's Pedro Martinez, the world No. 71, with Djokovic still realistically the best chance of upsetting Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. The Serb is 38 and has not played a warm-up match coming into the Grand Slam, but he is a 24-time Major champion and made the semi-finals of all four Slams in 2025. Iga Swiatek, Mirra Andreeva and Casper Ruud are all in action also...
