For several months, reports have emerged of a family feud and in the last few hours David and Victoria Beckham's eldest son dropped a bombshell. Brooklyn Beckham, 26, launched an astonishing attack on his parents as he finally addressed their long-standing feud. He took to Instagram on Monday night to share a six-page statement, where he said he has no wishes to reconcile with his family and is standing up for himself "for the first time in my life".
The aspiring chef accused his mum Victoria of hijacking his wedding dance and went as far as to say he has been "controlled by a family that values public promotion above all else" and that since being with Nicola Peltz Beckham, 31, he has found "peace and relief" after battling crippling anxiety. The fractures within the family began during their wedding in April 2022 as he claimed his mother Victoria, 51, and dad David, 50, "endlessly tried" to ruin their relationship.
In the lengthy statement, Brooklyn broke down the reason behind their fractured relationship as he claimed Victoria and David gave him a series of ultimatums. He went on to reject claims of a "perfect family" as he claimed "Brand Beckham comes first".
Despite his parents' heartfelt posts on social media, Brooklyn has remained silent. Alongside his wife Nicola, Brooklyn notably missed several significant family events last year, including his father's 50th birthday and the former footballer's knighthood ceremony.
He launched a furious tirade on his mum's behaviour during his first wedding celebration.
Brooklyn claimed: "My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic song.
"In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife, but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me.
"She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.
The couple renewed their wedding vows last year but Brooklyn's family were not in attendance.
In his Instagram statement, he claimed the Beckham's "love" came with conditions, writing, "My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first."
He continued: "Family 'love' is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family opp, even if it's at the expense of our professional obligations.
"We've gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party and every press activity to show our 'perfect family.'"
He added: "But the one time my wife asked for my mum's support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused."
Brooklyn went on to reveal that he does "not want to reconcile" with his family, and accused his parents of "controlling" the narrative.
His statement added: "I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private."
David and Victoria are yet to respond to their eldest's son's claims.
Express.co.uk have contacted the Beckhams' representatives for comment.
Brooklyn married Nicola on her billionaire father Nelson's estate in Palm Beach, Florida, in April 2022.
The star-studded guest list included the likes of Gordon Ramsay, 55, tennis champ Serena Williams, 40, and actress Eva Longoria, 47, Spice Girls Melanie Brown, 46, and supermodel Gigi Hadid, 26. Brooklyn's famous family were in attendance too.
