Popular veteran band Poison was all set to tour in order to celebrate their 40th anniversary. As per the latest reports, however, the tour will no longer be happening due to singer Bret Michaels. It was shared that the member allegedly asked for a lot more than all of his fellow band members all combined, which is what caused the idea of the tour to dissipate.

Poison's 40th anniversary tour has been cancelledIn a recent report published by Page Six, it was confirmed that the band would not be going on tour for their 40th anniversary. Reportedly, when it came down to discussing the fees for the tour, member Bret Michaels wanted to be paid ‘600 times’ more than all of his fellow members.

One of the other members, Rikki Rockett, further added that “We had a great offer, I thought. But we left the table. It didn’t work. Really, what it came to was C.C. [DeVille], Bobby [Dall], and I were all in, and I thought Bret was. But he wanted the lion’s share of the money, to the point where it makes it not possible to even do it. It’s like $6 to every one of our dollars. You just can’t work that way.”

Rockett also added how the whole thing him in disbelief. He added that he performs and wanted to do the tour ot just because of the money, but because he loves his job as a band member and musician.

Fans left disappointed While the tour was never formally announced, it was a project that had been expected by fans since 2024. Michaels had earlier shared a social media post where he had talked about how 2026 was a “great year” for spending time touring for Poison’s 40th anniversary celebration. However, in late 2025, Rockett had hinted that there had been talks of the tour, though nothing fruitful had happened.

In 2025, while starring as a guest on ‘The Hair Metal Guru’ podcast, the musician shared that the 40th-year tour would not be possible. He added, “It's really, really hard to shoehorn that thing in and get it to happen. It's not impossible, but it's super, super hard.”

All of the members had been in contact with the team for the tour, however it simply did not happen.
