A shocking incident of mass murder has been reported from Etah district, where four members of the same family were brutally killed in broad daylight on Monday afternoon. The incident took place in Nagla Premi village under the city Kotwali police station area, sending shockwaves across the region.

The victims have been identified as Ganga Singh, his wife Shyama Devi, daughter-in-law Ratna, and granddaughter Jyoti. All four were attacked inside their two-storey house and struck on the head with heavy objects, reportedly bricks.

According to initial information, Ganga Singh returned home from his shop around noon. At the time, his wife, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter were present in the house, while his son was away for work. Unidentified assailants entered the house and attacked the family members. Ganga Singh, Ratna, and Jyoti died on the spot, while Shyama Devi was found critically injured and unconscious.

Grandson’s Arrival Reveals the Crime

After the attackers fled, the couple’s grandson returned home from school. Finding the door open, he entered the house and was confronted with the gruesome scene. He ran outside screaming, alerting neighbours, who then informed the police.

Inside the house, Ganga Singh’s body was found lying on the bed, while the bodies of Ratna and Jyoti were discovered on the floor nearby. Blood was splattered around the bed area.

Injured Woman Succumbs in Hospital

Police rushed Shyama Devi to the hospital for treatment, but she succumbed to her injuries during treatment, raising the death toll to four.

Considering the gravity of the incident, the Superintendent of Police reached the spot along with a large police force. A forensic team was also called to examine the scene.

Bricks Used as Weapons, Multiple Assailants Suspected

Preliminary investigation indicates that all victims were struck on the head with bricks. Several blood-stained bricks were recovered from the spot. Police suspect the involvement of more than one attacker, as it would have been difficult for a single person to overpower and kill four people without raising an alarm.

No screams were reportedly heard at the time of the incident, which is why neighbours remained unaware until the grandson discovered the bodies.

Police have sealed the house and launched an investigation. Efforts are underway to identify the assailants and determine the motive behind the killings.
