M62 traffic: Chaos on major motorway as 'broken down machinery' sparks delays

Motorists faced rush hour chaos on the M62 this morning. Delays built up on the motorway westbound between junctions J25 and J24.
The congestion, of up to 50 minutes according to National Highways at approximately 7am, came following overnight roadworks and broken down plant machinery, which left the M62 Westbound temporarily closed within junction 24 while the vehicle awaits recovery.
