This time, people coming to watch the parade will not have to wander around looking for parking. For the first time, the Delhi Traffic Police will provide information about designated parking areas through Google Maps.
To facilitate spectators attending the Republic Day and Beating Retreat ceremonies at Kartavya Path, the Delhi Traffic Police is implementing new technologies and innovative measures. From eliminating parking hassles to providing on-the-spot assistance, several arrangements are being implemented for the first time.
Direct Parking Information via Google Maps
This time, people coming to watch the parade will not have to wander around looking for parking. For the first time, the Delhi Traffic Police will provide information about designated parking areas through Google Maps. Spectators will be able to reach the designated parking areas directly with their vehicles, saving time and reducing traffic congestion.
Special Help Desks at 12 Locations
Twelve help desks will be set up in and around Kartavya Path to assist the general public. The staff at these help desks will provide directions to spectators and also assist them in reaching their vehicles after the parade.
Calling System for Relief After the Parade
To manage the crowd of vehicles after the ceremony, a location-based calling system will be used. Drivers will be called and informed at which point they need to reach with their vehicles, preventing chaos and traffic jams.
Shuttle Bus Service for Traffic Staff
For the first time, a shuttle bus service is being introduced for the convenience of the traffic police staff. Now, personnel on duty will not have to walk nearly two kilometers between the North and South zones. This will improve both their efficiency and deployment.
Officials Claim Better Arrangements for Spectators
According to DCP Traffic, New Delhi Range, Rajiv Kumar, all these arrangements are being implemented for the first time. The objective is to ensure that people coming to watch the Republic Day and Beating Retreat ceremonies do not face any difficulties and that traffic management remains smooth. Help desk facilities will be available at the following locations:
Motilal Nehru Place roundabout, Sunheri Masjid roundabout, Man Singh Chowk roundabout, GPO roundabout, Jaswant Singh roundabout, Windsor Place roundabout, Mandi House roundabout, Teen Murti roundabout, Janpath and Dr. Rajendra Prasad Road crossing, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Gate Number 14, Q Point Palika Parking, and Connaught Place.
