On Wednesday morning, Delhi experienced a minor enhancement in air quality; however, it still falls within the 'very poor' category, as reported by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). At 9 AM, the city's Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 339.
According to CPCB data, the AQI was significantly higher at 395 on Tuesday morning, categorizing it as 'very poor'. The CPCB's 'Sameer' app indicated that out of all monitoring stations, 30 reported 'very poor' air quality, while eight stations were classified as 'poor'.
The area of Jahangirpuri recorded the worst air quality, with an AQI of 390. CPCB classifies AQI levels as follows: 0-50 is 'good', 51-100 is 'satisfactory', 101-200 is 'moderate', 201-300 is 'poor', 301-400 is 'very poor', and 401-500 is 'severe'. Unfortunately, weather conditions have not provided much relief.
The minimum temperature in the city was noted at 7.2 degrees Celsius. Station-specific data showed that Palam recorded a minimum of 8.8 degrees Celsius, Ridge at 9 degrees Celsius, Ayanagar at 8 degrees Celsius, and Lodhi Road at 7.6 degrees Celsius, while Safdarjung reported the lowest minimum temperature at 7.2 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 24 degrees Celsius, accompanied by moderate fog.
