The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj, has released the complete examination calendar for major teacher recruitments and eligibility tests to be held in 2026. With the release of this calendar, candidates have received clear direction and a timetable for their preparation.

According to the official notification issued by the commission, the Assistant Professor, Lecturer (PGT), Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT), and UP Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET) exams will be conducted on the scheduled dates in 2026. This calendar is considered very important for candidates who have been waiting for the dates of these exams for a long time.

First, the Assistant Professor Exam

According to the examination calendar, the Assistant Professor recruitment exam (Advertisement No.-51) will be held on April 18, 2026 (Saturday) and April 19, 2026 (Sunday). This exam will be conducted over two days. The dates for this recruitment had been changed earlier, which had created confusion among the candidates. Now, the situation has become clear with the announcement of the new dates.

PGT Recruitment Exam in May

Following this, the Lecturer (PGT) recruitment exam (Advertisement No.-02/2022) will be held on May 9, 2026 (Saturday) and May 10, 2026 (Sunday). This recruitment is for candidates who aspire to teach as lecturers in intermediate colleges.

TGT Exam in June

The commission has also stated that the Assistant Teacher (TGT) recruitment exam (Advertisement No.-01/2022) is scheduled for June 3, 2026 (Wednesday) and June 4, 2026 (Thursday). Candidates have been preparing for the TGT exam for a long time, so the announcement of the dates has brought them great relief.

UP TET 2026 to be held in July

The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET) 2026, considered the first step towards becoming a teacher, will be held on July 2, 2026 (Thursday), July 3, 2026 (Friday), and July 4, 2026 (Saturday). A large number of candidates are expected to participate in this three-day examination.

The commission clarified the situation regarding the Assistant Professor recruitment, stating that this exam was initially scheduled for April 16 and 17, 2025. However, it was later postponed until September 5, 2025. Now, the commission has decided that this exam will be conducted in 2026 according to the new schedule.
