Fresh legal developments in the ongoing Blake Lively vs Justin Baldoni dispute have sparked intense conversation online after private text messages between Lively and Taylor Swift were reportedly made public through newly unsealed court documents. The messages, which were included in filings submitted to a federal court in New York City, have added a new layer of attention to the already high-profile battle linked to the film adaptation of It Ends With Us. While Swift is not a direct party in the case, her name has repeatedly surfaced due to her close friendship with Lively and because Baldoni’s countersuit reportedly mentioned multiple people from Lively’s inner circle.

The dispute began after Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment, retaliation, and fostering a hostile work environment during the film’s production. Baldoni has denied the allegations. He later filed a countersuit accusing Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and others of defamation and extortion. 

Now, the unsealed documents have brought their behind-the-scenes tensions back into focus, with texts indicating the issue may have been discussed privately long before it became fully public.

One of the biggest revelations reported from the newly surfaced messages is a text allegedly sent by Taylor Swift to Blake Lively in early December 2024, where Swift referred to Justin Baldoni using an abusive slur and implied he seemed aware that something negative was coming his way publicly.

In simple terms, the message suggested Swift believed Baldoni was already acting like a victim because he sensed a major story was about to break. Reports claim this referred to a December 2024 New York Times article that later included allegations about Baldoni distancing himself from promoting the film and alleged reactions from crew members. 

The court filings also indicate that Lively was seeking support from Swift during disagreements related to the film’s script. In one of the messages from April 2023, Swift allegedly told Lively she would support her however she could.

Additionally, the documents claim that Swift and Lively were present for a meeting with Baldoni at Lively’s apartment, where they pushed for Lively’s revised draft. After the meeting, Lively reportedly praised Swift for backing her and later shared details of the interaction with Reynolds. 

Taylor Swift’s team has denied deeper involvement

Taylor Swift’s side has maintained that she had no creative role in the project beyond allowing the use of her song “My Tears Ricochet.” However, the texts reportedly suggest she was still being kept in the loop privately. 

The documents also reference efforts by Lively and Reynolds to gather support from other Hollywood figures as tensions escalated.
