History was rewritten at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek on Tuesday when Australia’s left-handed batter Will Malajczuk produced a stunning innings at the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. With fearless hitting and remarkable composure, Will Malajczuk registered the fastest century ever in the tournament’s history, sending shockwaves through youth cricket.
Will Malajczuk brought up his hundred in just 51 deliveries, reaching the landmark in the 13.5th over. In the process, he surpassed the previous Under-19 World Cup record held by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi who had reached his century in 52 balls. While Pakistan’s Sameer Minhas still holds the overall Youth ODI record with a 42-ball hundred, Will Malajczuk’s effort now stands as the quickest in Under-19 World Cup history.
Chasing a target of 202 against Japan, Australia were never under pressure thanks to Will Malajczuk’s explosive approach. He eventually scored 102 runs off 55 balls, guiding the defending champions to a comfortable eight-wicket victory in the Group A clash. His innings featured 12 boundaries and five massive sixes, struck at a commanding strike rate of 185.45.

Opening the batting with Nitesh Samuel, Will Malajczuk helped put together a dominant 135-run partnership in just 15.3 overs before being dismissed while attempting another attacking shot.
Earlier, Japan had posted 201 for eight, largely due to a gritty unbeaten 79 off 135 balls from Hugo Tani-Kelly. Despite that effort, Will Malajczuk’s brilliance ensured the match belonged firmly to Australia.
