AMRITSAR: Shiromani Committee delegation has met the Delhi Police Commissioner and demanded registration of a case against former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Shot Marlena for hurting religious sentiments by making derogatory remarks about the Gurus.

The delegation led by Senior Vice President of the Shiromani Committee Raghujit Singh Virk to meet the Police Commissioner included Junior Vice President Baldev Singh Kalyan, Interim Member Gurpreet Singh He announcesIn-charge of Haryana Sikh Mission Sukhwinder Singh and In-charge of Delhi Sikh Mission S. Manveet Singh.

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee delegation submitted a petition to the Police Commissioner stating that on January 6, former Delhi Chief Minister Shot had used derogatory words against the Gurus in the Vidhan Sabha, thereby deeply hurting the sentiments of the Sikhs. The words used by her are also recorded in the proceedings of the Vidhan Sabha.

The letter states that the teachings of the Sikh Gurus are a guide for the entire humanity. The Sikh community has always spoken of brotherhood by rising above caste, creed, race and differences according to the principles of the Gurus. The comments made by the Delhi AAP leader against the Gurus have badly hurt the religious sentiments of Sikhs living all over the world. These comments have been made deliberately by her, which reveal her mentality towards the Sikhs.

In a letter to the Police Commissioner, it was mentioned that at a time when the martyrdom centenary of Sri Guru Go Bahadur Sahib Ji is being celebrated all over the world, including India, and the sacrifice made by him is being remembered, it is extremely unfortunate that the elected representative of the people should use such language towards the Gurus.

The delegation demanded strict action from the Police Commissioner by filing a case against AAP leader Shot for hurting religious sentiments, so that in future no political leader takes any action that hurts anyone’s religious sentiments.
