Pafos boss Albert Celades was left somewhat bemused when he was asked about the fallout between David and Brooklyn Beckham, after his side's defeat to Chelsea. Celades nearly guided the Cypriot side to a famous result at Stamford Bridge before Moises Caicedo earned victory for the Blues.
But rather than seeing his press conference focused on football, Celades, who was a team-mate of Beckham at Real Madrid, had an altogether different question put to him. Celades was asked whether he'd followed the drama around the former England captain and his son.
The Beckham family finds itself in turmoil following the explosive statement issued by Brooklyn in which he made several accusations about his parents. Brooklyn’s unhappiness centres around David and Victoria’s alleged attempts to “ruin” his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz and he claims to have felt he had “no choice but to speak... and tell the truth” about the family feud.
Understandably, Celades may have been a little surprised and uncomfortable with the question. The 50-year-old Spaniard started his career with Barcelona before enjoying a five-year spell with Real Madrid, while Beckham was at the Bernabeu.
The Pafos coach gave a simple reply to the journalist, acknowledging the question was not relevant to the game that had transpired and that he did not want to say anything in relation to the family feud.

Celades is just two weeks into his spell with Pafos, having replaced Juan Carlos Carcedo, but he had tasted victory in west London before. The Spaniard guided Valencia to a win over Frank Lampard's team in 2019.
The former Spain international was unable to call upon ex-Chelsea defender David Luiz on Wednesday evening, but was left faced with a connection from his own past with Beckham in the news.
The most eye-catching claim from Brooklyn was that Posh Spice Victoria had danced very inappropriately with him at his wedding in 2022. She had also allegedly "hijacked" his first dance with wife Nicola.

Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior escaped similar questioning and was able to focus on the progress of his side after taking charge following Enzo Maresca's exit. Despite winning three of his first four matches, Rosenior still has to win supporters over.
"I just have to keep focusing on the job, which is try to win as many games as possible," he said. "Yeah, I can't affect what people prejudge me as or prejudge things that are happening.
"Well, from my point of view, I'm very excited for the future of the club with the squad that we have, the youth of the squad, how much it can improve. And with small things and little tweaks and little improvements, I think this team can go a long way.
"I would love the fans to be with us and to be with me. But to do that, I need to earn that. It's two-way."
