Yogi government has launched 'Kaushal Disha' portal for rural youth. Free skill training, certification, employment and self-employment opportunities will be available through this digital platform. This is a big step towards women empowerment and self-reliant UP.
Another big step has been taken towards employment and self-reliance in Uttar Pradesh. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government has introduced 'Kaushal Disha' portal as a new force to connect rural youth with skills. This digital platform is opening a new path of hope for those youth who till now were left behind due to lack of resources and opportunities.
Digital solutions for rural youth
The 'Kaushal Disha' portal has been developed with the idea that youth living in villages can also get quality skill training through technology. This portal will become a medium to prepare the youth for employment and self-employment while reducing the skill gap present in the state. The focus of the government is not to remove the lack of talent, but to remove the lack of opportunities.
You will get free skill training sitting at home
According to Kapil Dev Aggarwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, 'Kaushal Disha' is an online platform where youth can take training through self-learning after easy registration. Online assessment and certification facility is also available on the portal. This training is being given in selected key sectors under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gramin Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) 1.0.
Special emphasis on employment oriented sectors
Through this portal, training is being provided in sectors like IT and ITES, Tourism and Hospitality, Electronics, Health Services, Apparel Industry, Home Furnishing, Retail and Logistics. These sectors have been selected on the basis where real employment opportunities exist. Youth from economically weak and rural backgrounds will get this training completely free of cost.
Women empowerment will get new momentum
'Kaushal Disha' portal has also brought special opportunities for women. Women who are unable to go to training centers due to social or family reasons will now be able to learn skills at home through smartphones and internet. The certification they get after training will give them confidence towards employment or self-employment.
Skill ecosystem will be strengthened by technology
The state government believes that future needs can be met only by linking skill development with technology and innovation. 'Kaushal Disha' is a part of this thinking, through which an inclusive, strong and future-oriented skill ecosystem is being created in Uttar Pradesh. This initiative will not only make the youth self-reliant but will also take the state closer to the goal of a developed India.
