The preparations for the UP Board High School and Intermediate Examinations 2026 have entered their final phase. The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has intensified efforts to ensure that the upcoming board examinations are conducted in a fair, transparent, and malpractice-free manner. According to official updates, the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams will commence from February 18, 2026, across the state.

To strengthen monitoring and prevent cheating or irregularities, the board has begun connecting examination centres to dedicated control rooms at the district level. In addition to local monitoring, examinations will also be supervised centrally from Lucknow and Meerut, marking one of the most comprehensive surveillance setups ever implemented for UP Board exams.

Board Exams Under Tight Surveillance

UPMSP has made it clear that it is leaving no stone unturned to maintain the integrity of the examination process. Not only the written board exams, but even the Intermediate practical examinations will now be conducted under CCTV surveillance. As part of this initiative, district administrations have started linking all examination centres to control rooms equipped with advanced monitoring systems.

Recently, a trial run of this system was successfully conducted in Agra district, where real-time monitoring of exam centres was tested to evaluate preparedness and technical reliability.

Control Room Set Up in Agra

In Agra, a fully functional control room has been established at the Government Inter College. All examination centres in the district were connected to this control room during the trial phase. Additionally, exam activities will be monitored not only locally but also through control rooms based in Lucknow and Meerut, ensuring multi-level supervision.

The state government has also issued clear instructions that practical examinations must be monitored through CCTV cameras. The District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) office has been actively working to implement these directives. According to DIOS Chandrashekhar, six computer systems have been installed in the control room, and light testing of the setup has already been completed.

Intermediate practical examinations in Agra are scheduled to be held between January 24 and February 1, 2026, and all sessions will be recorded and supervised through cameras. For coordination and information sharing, a dedicated control room helpline number has also been released for officials.

Muzaffarnagar DIOS Office Turned Into Control Room

Similar arrangements have been made in Muzaffarnagar, where the DIOS office has been converted into a central control room for board examinations. CCTV cameras installed at examination centres have undergone thorough inspection to ensure proper functioning.

To guarantee cheating-free examinations, all 72 examination centres in the district have been connected through CCTV surveillance. Notably, after several years, the board exam control room has once again been established within the DIOS office itself, highlighting the seriousness of the monitoring process.

A trial of the control room system was conducted on Wednesday, during which the CCTV feeds from all centres were checked. Centre superintendents were instructed to immediately repair or replace any faulty cameras to avoid technical disruptions during the exams.

Voice Recorders Added for Extra Security

Taking surveillance a step further, UPMSP has also integrated voice recording systems along with CCTV cameras at all examination centres. This move aims to prevent not only visual but also verbal irregularities during examinations. In Muzaffarnagar, officials confirmed that all 72 centres have been successfully connected to both CCTV cameras and voice recorders.

On Wednesday, a comprehensive inspection was carried out to test the functionality of cameras and voice recording devices at every centre. Authorities believe that this dual-layer monitoring system will significantly reduce the chances of misconduct and ensure strict compliance with examination rules.

Exam Schedule and Practical Exams

As per the official timeline, the UP Board Class 10 and Class 12 examinations will start from February 18, 2026. Before the main exams, Intermediate practical examinations will be conducted in January itself. These practical exams will also be held under surveillance, reflecting the board’s zero-tolerance approach towards unfair practices.

A Strong Push for Fair Examinations

With lakhs of students appearing for the UP Board exams every year, ensuring fairness and transparency is a massive challenge. This year’s enhanced monitoring system—combining district-level control rooms, state-level oversight, CCTV surveillance, and voice recording—demonstrates the board’s commitment to conducting exams smoothly and securely.

As the exam dates approach, students are advised to focus on revision and preparation, while authorities continue to fine-tune logistical and technical arrangements. If implemented effectively, these measures could set a new benchmark for secure and well-monitored board examinations in Uttar Pradesh.
