The excitement surrounding Dhurandhar 2 continues to build, with fans eagerly awaiting what filmmaker Aditya Dhar has planned for the sequel. Adding to the anticipation, a new report suggests that Vicky Kaushal is set to appear in the film, significantly raising expectations.
According to a report by Mid-Day, Kaushal’s appearance in Dhurandhar 2 will not be a fleeting or unrelated cameo. Instead, he is reportedly reprising his iconic role of Major Vihaan Shergill from Uri: The Surgical Strike.
The report notes that Aditya Dhar has kept details under wraps about the sequel’s added “star power,” but has cleverly integrated a storyline from Uri into the narrative of Dhurandhar 2, despite the two films being set in different timelines.
A source close to the development told the publication: “Aditya has smartly woven in a track from 'Uri' despite the difference in the two stories' timelines. Vicky's character from the war drama, which is set in 2016, is introduced in this film, although it remains unclear whether he and Ranveer's character cross paths. The cameo includes a few action blocks.”
The report further suggests that Dhurandhar 2 may not be designed as a standalone sequel. Instead, Aditya Dhar appears to be laying the foundation for a larger interconnected cinematic universe. Kaushal reportedly shot his portions for the film sometime last year.
In addition to Kaushal’s appearance, Akshaye Khanna is also expected to return as Rahman Dakait, with his character appearing through flashback sequences.
The espionage thriller is slated for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026.
As congratulatory messages poured in, Aditya Dhar penned a heartfelt note for the couple in the comments section, writing: “@vicky @katrina huge congratulations!! Mere Vikkuuu, from bringing Major Vihaan Shergill to life on screen to now holding little Vihaan in your arms, life really has come full circle. All my love and blessings to the three of you. You’re both going to be extraordinary parents.”
