After the ICC’s 24-hour ultimatum ended, the Bangladesh government has taken this tough decision. This is the first time in the T20 World Cup that a team has withdrawn its name from the World Cup at the last moment citing security and political reasons.

After the official withdrawal of Bangladesh, ICC has started preparations to implement its ‘Plan-B’. On the basis of T20 ranking, Scotland will be included in Group C in place of Bangladesh. Now Scotland team will face West Indies, England, Nepal and Italy in Group C. Scotland will now have very little time to prepare, as the tournament starts on 7 February.
