This week's viral Brooklyn Beckham drama has finally made its way into the corridors of power, after the nepo-baby's row with parents Victoria and David was raised in the House of Commons.

Top Tory Jesse Norman referenced the major story during a debate in Parliament, issuing a witty takedown of the family's fallout.

Taking to his feet, the Tory Leader of the Commons told MPs: "What a week this has been.

"Rising international tensions; heated public disagreement; desperate attempts at diplomatic solutions.

"And that's just Brooklyn Beckham's Instagram account!"

The remark sparked huge laughter from MPs, including backbench Tory Charlie Dewhirst he was seen in hysterics behind Mr Norman.

Mr Norman's joke came hours after Sir Keir Starmer himself weighed into the high-stakes drama, telling cameras this lunchtime: "I'm reluctant to advise other people or to step in to the family affairs of the Beckhams.

"What I will say is I've watched David Beckham play football many, many times, both live at the pitch and on television.

"Fantastic player, always admired and respected him and he's been a great ambassador for our country.

"But as for what's going on within his family, I don't think it's for me to step into that space."

Earlier this week his spokesman sidestepped the question, but cryptically warned: "The Prime Minister has always been clear that diplomacy is very important."

Later in the House of Commons, Mr Norman was chastised by Speaker Lindsay Hoyle for using the word "bulls**terati" in reference to Nigel Farage's visit to Davos this week.

Bolstered by the delight at his Brooklyn Beckham quip, Mr Norman railed: "Talking of elites, we've had the amusing spectacle this week of that self-proclaimed friend of the people, the Member for Clacton, hoovering up the free food and glugging down champagne with the global bulls**teratti with the people in Davos."

Sir Lindsay Hoyle asked him to withdraw the phrase.
