Phu Quoc International Airport received 47 international flights on Jan. 17, its highest yet, amid a surge in tourist numbers, according to information from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

There had been 46 on Jan. 3.

The frequency of international flights has remained consistent through January, reflecting a clear recovery and sustained growth in international travel.

The flights are mainly from South Korea, China, Thailand, Kazakhstan, and some other markets in Central Asia and Northeast Asia.

The popular island expects to receive 8.5 million tourists this year, up 5% from last year, including two million foreigners, an 11% increase.

It has enjoyed a good start to 2026, with many accommodation facilities being fully booked during the New Year holidays.
