South Africa has had to reshuffle its T20 World Cup squad. Donovan Ferreira and Tony DeGeorge are out of this tournament due to injury. Tristan Stubbs and Ryan Rickleton have been included in the team in their place. Ferreira recently injured his shoulder while fielding in a SA20 match. DeGeorge could not recover from the hamstring injury suffered during the India tour.

South Africa’s problems increased

The South African team is struggling with the fitness problems of its players. David Miller is also injured. In Paarl Royals’ last league match in SA20, Miller left the field due to an adductor injury. He will not play in the eliminator match against Joburg Super Kings. Miller will also not be available in the T20 series against West Indies next week.

The South African team will leave for the T20 World Cup in February. Before this, Miller will have to give a fitness test. If he is unable to pass this test, then another player will be included in the squad in his place.

Ngidi-Brevis also got injured

Lungi Ngidi and Dewald Brevis have also suffered injuries in SA20. Ngidi, playing for Pretoria Capitals, bowled just two overs in the qualifier match against Sunrisers Eastern Cape. It is expected that Ngidi will be fit for the T20 World Cup.

Ngidi’s Pretoria Capitals teammate Brevis has suffered a finger injury and there are doubts over his fitness. Brevis’ finger will be scanned soon.

South Africa squad: Aiden Markram (captain), Corbin Bosch, Dewald Brewis, Quinton de Kock, Marco Yanson, George Linde, Keshav Maharaj, Kwena Mfaka, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Norkhia, Kagiso Rabada, Ryan Rickleton, Jason Smith, Tristan Stubbs.
