Many questions are being raised in the case of the death of Noida software engineer Yuvraj Mehta. When Yuvraj was fighting for life and death, more than 80 soldiers including police, fire brigade, NDRF, SDRF and about five teams of local divers were present there. Yuvraj kept saying again and again – Help me, help me. Please save me. Still his life could not be saved. The surprising thing is that the rescue continued for 5 hours. But the police did not even have a rubber tube. Had there been a rubber tube, perhaps Yuvraj could have been easily reached and his life could have been saved. But software engineer Yuvraj fell prey to the system.

Munendra, an eyewitness to the incident, said that neither team had enough rope which could have been thrown to save Yuvraj. Sitting on the car, he was shouting loudly to get me out of the swamp. I am drowning. His father Rajkumar Mehta was also standing watching the whole scene. By the time the fire brigade, NDRF, SDRF and local divers reached the spot, Yuvraj was completely drowned and his breathing had stopped.

Neither rope, nor tube, nor boat… how could Yuvraj’s life be saved?

During the rescue operation, the police personnel tried to throw the rope but without tube and flotation sport the rope could not reach Yuvraj. The help of heavy equipment crane was also taken on the spot. But even that did not yield any success. SDRF did not even have any boat or boat, through which they could go into the water and reach the Crown Prince.

Yuvraj’s life drowned due to negligence of two departments

In this incident, huge negligence of Noida Authority and Irrigation Department came to light. In fact, in 2023, the authority had claimed that the sewer line was laid in Noida Sector-150 at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore, but the reality turned out to be different. When we investigated the water coming out of the society around Sector-150, it was found that instead of drains, the water is filling this deep pit. The authority laid the work of laying sewer line there without informing the Irrigation Department.

It was the responsibility of the Irrigation Department to connect the sewer line coming out of Sector-150 to Harnandi or any other drainage system. During investigation, it was also revealed that every day 28 lakh liters of water coming out of here comes out of the sewer and directly fills these vacant plots and green belts. This is the reason that this 70 feet dug pit got filled with water and after 2 years, a 27 year old software engineer Yuvraj drowned.

Yuvraj’s father got a message to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

This incident has raised questions not only on the state but also on the country and abroad and the helpless system. Now in such a situation, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself has taken cognizance of this matter and has formed a five-member team of SIT. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has spoken to Noida MLA Pankaj Singh on phone and asked to meet the victim’s father soon. However, the time and day have not been decided yet. Meanwhile, Rajkumar Mehta, father of the deceased, says that he does not need any compensation or help. He just wants that strict action should be taken against whoever is responsible for this negligence.
