After months of speculation and a teaser, director Sundar C ., along with Vishal, has finally begun shooting for 'Purushan.' The film had a pooja launch earlier today, and it has fans excited, as this is the fourth time both of them are collaborating on screen. Have previously worked on the films 'Aambala' (2015), 'Action' (2019), and 'Madha Gaja Raja' (2025). While not much is known about the film, the promo gives a glimpse into the film where Vishal is an ordinary husband hiding his violent past, which is said to be the plotline. Tamannaah, Yogi Babu, and Hiphop Aadhi have also joined the muhurat puja as pictures from the special occasion go viral on social media.
A new genre from a familiar team
The promo has released a trend, indicating that 'Purushan' might delve into a topic slightly darker, deeper, and more thrilling compared to the previous two movies. Vishal's character seems undersized and suppressed by his wife, as he is hiding the quality of a cold-blooded killer underneath his peaceful personality. It will be Tamannaah's and Sundar C's third collab after the movies 'Action' and 'Aranmanai 4' (2024), and Yogi Babu plays an important character in the movie. The union of Vishal and Tamannaah, along with the director's specific ability to integrate comedy with action, has gotten the viewers on their tiptoes.
Technical crew and musical backing
Sundar C's frequent music collaborator Hiphop Tamizha Adhi is back for Purushan, and no doubt the film's music will capture the signature energy of the director. Gopi Amarnath and editor Roger are also part of the technical team. There are reasons to suggest that this film could be a box office hit that could have mass appeal, especially since it features a well-known team and has produced box office successes in the past. While the date has not yet been set, it appears that this film has already been the subject of much debate as a new release.
Vishal and Sundar C’s upcoming plans
Sundar C and Vishal are going to be quite busy. Sundar is currently working on 'Mookuthi Amman 2,' where Nayanthara will again play the goddess. Sundar was originally supposed to direct 'Thalaivar 173,' but news had it that he opted out of the film due to “unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances,” leaving director Karthik Subbaraj to helm it instead. Meanwhile, Vishal is busy with 'Magudam,' his directorial venture, after Ravi Arasu left the project.
