Bruno Fernandes and Mohamed Salah are two of 50 summer transfer targets for the Saudi Pro League. Both players have been linked to exits from Manchester United and Liverpool, respectively, over the last 12 months with significant movement expected after the 2026 World Cup.
Those are the claims from talkSPORT, who have also outlined that Vinicius Jr, Robert Lewandowski and Casemiro are targets. The latter is a likely arrival in the Middle East as a free agent, with United having announced earlier this week that he will depart at the conclusion of his contract.
Interest from Saudi in Fernandes is also expected to return with Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr all making contact last summer before the decision was made for him to remain at Old Trafford. For non-Premier League clubs, the Portugal international has a favourable €60m release clause.
The 31-year-old very nearly joined Al-Hilal before the season commenced, but decided the timing was not right to make the switch. His stance on that could have changed, however, following the departure of Ruben Amorim with his current contract expiring in just under 18 months.
As for Salah, a move to Saudi Arabia in January appeared a real possibility following a disagreement with Arne Slot. However, that relationship was somewhat repaired before Salah headed to AFCON, and he went straight back into the Liverpool starting XI for their Champions League win over Marseille earlier this week.
With the 33-year-old fully reintegrated, Liverpool are said to have made it clear to Al-Hilal, NEOM FC and Al Qadsiah that he will not be going anywhere in the remaining 10 days of the winter trading period. Salah's contract expires in June 2027 and - though a transfer this summer is possible - Liverpool are insisting they want him to see out his current terms.
A sensational £150million offer was made for Salah back in 2023 by Al-Ittihad with it now possible they reignite their interest. A major revamp is expected to take place in Saudi Arabia over the coming months; with N'Golo Kante, Karim Benzema and former Liverpool star Fabinho all potentially set to leave.
If the two midfielders depart Al-Ittihad, then Casemiro could come in as the replacement with Al Qadsiah, managed by Brendan Rodgers, also interested in the Brazil international.
